Les Fleurs

Due to badly timed life drama that I could have done without unfurling in my life like petrol station Carnations, I seem to have missed the one day a year that Western civilisation  is supposed to be romantic to one another.
For reasons otherwise incomprehensible to my seemingly tiny mind, this can only happen on the 14th February, and no other time of the year. Lets face it, what says I love you like a giant teddy-bear and a padded yet tactfully quilted primary coloured card. Fucking hell, I sound like I just swallowed le bitter pill to end all bitter pills.
I remember my post this time last year. It involved my heart belonging to London. Still true, and true love runs deep. London is exciting, varied and often takes me by surprise. As well as fashion. My life long love, and showing no signs of the 28 (nearly 29) year itch. Maybe some things really are for life. Apart from Dogs for Christmas and Herpes that is. Anyway, nuff said.
For the record, I HATE carnations. And I heart Mary Katranzou.
Buy me flowers any which way as long as they are the Mary way...x M

Legs Eleven

I never used to be a trouser girl. Apart from the pre-requisite skinny's, trousers just never featured that strongly in my wardrobe. I blame this in part on the high street who never used to do trousers well. There was a time when all you could buy was boot cut office type trousers in drab greys and slightly shiny nylon black. And no one, not even the fashion tour de force of La Moss could pull those off with aplomb.

My moment of fashion clarity came in an amazing Paris vintage shop with the most un Gallic name ever - Come On Eileen, with the discovery of a pair of buttery soft tapered leg black leather trousers that go with everything. I would marry them if I could. After that there was no stopping me. Trousers are now my BFF. And an instant way to update my spring wardrobe (not that it feels anywhere close to spring at the moment) are these little beauties from Zara. Ticking off some key trends - pyjama pants and prints in one fell swoop. Sleepwear is the next big thing, a look that my ultimate style crushes, The Olsen's have been championing for years.

I'll definitely be rocking these bad boys at FW, with studded clogs, a fine Acne cashmere knit, oversize clutch and my faithful battered up leather jacket, all topped of with copious amounts of gold jewellery. Prints please. x M

FW

I am so excited for the start of Fashion Month. Imagine a child with ADHD jacked up on a heady mix of sugar and meth and you might be halfway there to describing my current mood.

New York, London, Milan, Paris. They roll off my tongue like a uber stylish mantra. I can not wait to see what some of favourite's will have walking down the catwalk for AW12/13.

Looking back to SS12, this had to be my hands down favourite look (not to mention show.) The pure intricate simplicity, tailored silhouette and tough take on the floral trend, not to mention THAT peplum. In a word. Beautiful. The genius that is Alexander McQueen. Take a bow. x M
